Abstract
The use of Digital Educational Resources (RED) in the teaching of social sciences has generated new strategies for meaningful learning in secondary school students. This study analyzes the implementation of an interactive digital resource to strengthen knowledge about Colombian culture in elementary school students of an Educational Institution in Montería, Colombia. The design of the study responds to the need to overcome the traditional pedagogical model, which, despite its presence in the classroom, does not respond to the challenges of the digital era and limits the motivation of students in learning the history, geography and cultural diversity of the country. To this end, a pedagogical proposal based on interactive digital strategies was developed, structured in seven phases within a qualitative approach and action-research. The participants were 29 eleventh grade students, who interacted with a digital resource structured in thematic modules on gastronomy, ethnic communities, cultural heritage and Colombian folklore. The evaluation of the impact of the intervention was carried out through surveys, classroom observations and the analysis of responses on the digital platform used. The findings indicate that the use of digital educational resources increased students' motivation and active participation, favoring the development of skills in critical thinking and cultural analysis. In addition, there was evidence of an improvement in the recognition of cultural identity and in the appropriation of knowledge about Colombian traditions.
These results reinforce the importance of integrating digital technologies into social science teaching to make learning a more dynamic and interactive process.
