Abstract

Digital dentistry has revolutionized the way dental care is delivered, particularly with the advent of 3D printing and Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology. These technologies have enabled more accurate, efficient, and personalized treatment planning and execution, improving outcomes for patients. Dentists and dental technicians play crucial roles in the integration and application of these technologies. This paper explores the impact of 3D printing and CAD/CAM technology on the field of dentistry, focusing on the roles and collaboration between dentists and dental technicians. It highlights the benefits of these technologies, including faster treatment times, improved precision in restorations, and enhanced patient satisfaction. Additionally, the challenges of implementing these technologies, including the need for specialized training and equipment, are discussed. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, both dentists and dental technicians can fully harness the potential of these advanced technologies to provide cutting-edge dental care.
